Three local physical therapists earn credentials

Elite Health Services, located at 1445 E. Putnam Avenue, has announced that three physical therapy employees have recently earned the Certified Functional Physical Therapist (CFMT) credential from the Institute of Physical Arts located in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

David Potucek, MSPT, CFMT of Cos Cob, Matthew Silvaggio, MSPT, CFMT of Fairfield, and Heather Whiting, PT, DPT, CSCS, CFMT of Greenwich have all joined Elite Health Services Managing Partner and Rehabilitation Coordinator Brad Gilden, PT, DPT, CSCS, CFMT in obtaining the certification.

A CFMT is a physical therapist who possesses expertise and advanced knowledge of integration and seamless treatment that couples mechanical treatment of the joints, soft tissues, visceral and neurovascular systems with manual neuromuscular facilitation to enhance optimum motor control and human function.

On average, it takes physical therapists five to six years to obtain the advanced CFMT certification.

Elite Health Services currently employs four out of the less than 200 Certified Functional Manual Therapists worldwide.
