Are you ready to party, Greenwich style? Select tickets are going on sale tomorrow, Dec. 5, for the 2015 Greenwich Town Party.

The fifth annual day-long family music festival is planned for Saturday, May 23 but tickets are going on sale for several levels  starting Friday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. This early start is an effort by the Greenwich Town Party (GTP) to kick off six months of community celebrations leading up to next May’s party in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. This pre-sale opportunity is being done in connection with the Greenwich Holiday Stroll and the Old Greenwich First Light Festival and tickets can be purchased both online and in person.

Tickets will be going on sale for the Block Party Gift Set, Neighbor Tickets and Sponsor Packages. On Friday, Dec. 5, these tickets and packages will be available for purchase online at Greenwichtownparty.org and then in person at the Holiday Stroll on Dec. 6 and 7 in front of Richards at 359 Greenwich Avenue and Vineyard Vines at 145 Greenwich Avenue and at  the First Light festivities in Old Greenwich on Dec. 6 in front of Chilly Bear at 180 Sound Beach Avenue. Tickets will also be on sale at the finish line of the Jingle Bell Jog on 20 Church Street on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 9 a.m.

The official on-sale date for general admission tickets is Feb. 5, 2015.

The Block Party Gift Set, which includes six general admission tickets for $750, is available throughout until Dec. 31. Neighbor Tickets, which cost $250 apiece, provide access to a designated Neighborhood Area with wine, beer and snacks.  GTP Sponsor Packages for individuals and businesses are available now, starting at $1,250, and provide access to the Sponsor Tent with catered food and beverages throughout the day and evening.

According to the GTP, sponsors packages, neighbor tickets and donations from town residents and local businesses provide the majority of party funding each year for the party, allowing general admission tickets to be kept low for an event of this size so more people can attend.

“Thanks to the continued generosity of sponsors and donors, the community ticket prices have been reduced to a fraction of what they would have been for such a large event,” the GTP said.

The GTP has become a beloved tradition in town and in past years has featured iconic musicians like Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Carlos Santana and more. The headliner and bands will be announced in 2015.  For more information on sponsorship packages and tickets for the 2015 GTP, visit the web site at Greenwichtownparty.org.

On Dec. 5, the GTP will also launch the GTP Community Heroes Campaign, an initiative that celebrates the people who exemplify the generous spirit of Greenwich and what makes some 60,000 residents proud to call it their hometown. Greenwich residents will have the opportunity to recognize the remarkable people who touch their lives and enrich their community — from a friend or neighbor to a teacher, coach, doctor or firefighter.

“Unsung heroes are often silent strengths in the community, and this year the GTP would like to voice their contributions,” the GTP said. “One hundred heroes will be chosen at random throughout the year to receive a pair of tickets to the 2015 Greenwich Town Party to celebrate being an integral part of the fabric of Greenwich. Every nominated hero will be recognized publicly at this year’s event.”

Greenwich residents and businesses can submit stories of local heroes via email at [email protected] or any GTP social media platform with the hashtag #gtpheroes at Facebook facebook.com/GreenwichTownParty, Twitter.com/greenwichtown, or Instagram.com/GreenwichTownParty. Starting Dec. 5, submissions will be showcased on the GTP web site at Greenwichtownparty.org/heroes.
