Chelsea Piers Connecticut has announced the class schedule for CP-AC Fitness, the new 65,000 square foot fitness center and clubhouse, as well as the roster of instructors.

The class schedule is considered one of the most comprehensive in Fairfield County with more than 100 classes a week in more than 13 sports. According to Chelsea Piers Connecticut, the list of instructors and personal trainers includes some of the most popular in the area.

Weekly classes begin as early as 5:30am, seven days a week. Classes and programs take place at CP-AC Fitness and at the other sports venues at Chelsea Piers, including: cardio tennis, aqua jog, masters swim, cycling, triathlon, adult gymnastics, Zumba, yoga and kick boxing.

In December 2014, Chelsea Piers Connecticut is opening CP-AC Fitness, which is calls “a world-class 65,000 square-foot health & fitness facility and clubhouse.” The members-only fitness facility will feature 25,000 square feet of strength and cardio equipment, a dedicated mind/body center for Pilates Reformer classes, multi-disciplinary and hot yoga, as well as traditional group fitness studios and dedicated space for triathlon and competitive cycling training. There will be more than 110 weekly fitness classes and programs. Additionally, there will be a custom Queenax Bridge studio creating endless possibilities for suspension, boxing and functional training.

The new CP-AC Fitness Center features six brand new studios:

  • Queenax Bridge Studio
  • Cycling Studio with CompuTrainers
  • Dual-level Atrium Studio for group fitness classes
  • Yoga Studio
  • Hot Yoga Studio
  • Pilates Reformer Studio

The class schedule includes: mind-body classes, strength training classes, cardio/ strength combo classes and cardio classes. Some highlights include:

Tabata – Push out of your comfort zone with cardio and resistance intervals using your own body weight. This form of training has been proven to increase both muscle strength and cardio endurance in a total body workout.

Training Series – Kick your training up a notch with our Specialty Training classes, which are designed to keep your workout fresh, produce results and keep you excited about coming to the gym. These small group classes feature intensive instruction in the areas of kettlebells, boxing, plyometrics and barbell movements.

Hot Yoga –Classes offered in the hot yoga studio include detox yoga with classic yoga moves and Vinyasa Flow yoga.

Cardio TRX – The Queenax Bridge Studio provides TRX suspension exercises to work on your core and treadmills and rowers to work on your cardio. This interval training class elevates your heart rate for short stints to create an effective workout.

Trampoline Fitness – Get a great cardio workout while experiencing the excitement of jumping on our 26 trampolines. This cardio workout incorporates several different types of jumps that will be sure to make you sweat.

Chelsea Piers Connecticut (CPCT) is a 465,000-square-foot state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility located in Stamford, just off I-95 at Exit 9. It features two indoor ice rinks, an Olympic pool and adjacent 6,000-sq.-ft. Splash Zone indoor water park, a 14,000-sq.-ft. gymnastics training center, 11 singles and one hardball doubles squash court, seven indoor hard court tennis courts, an indoor turf baseball/softball training facility and five batting cages, a 12,000-sq.-ft. Adventure Center featuring a recreational trampoline center, a 24-foot high rock wall and a Little Athletes gym for children six months to five years, and a Field House with a 100-yard turf field, four hardwood basketball/volleyball courts and a 1/5-mile track.
