Chamber holiday decorating contest, party set for local businesses

The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce has announced its annual holiday decorating contest for town businesses.

The contest is open to all local businesses with a store front and is not limited to Chamber members. Businesses are encouraged to decorate their storefronts in the spirit of the holidays and will be eligible to win prizes and special recognition for their efforts.

This year’s windows will be evaluated by four groups of judges. The town will be broken into four areas: Central Greenwich, starting from the intersection of North Street and E. Putnam Avenue and ending at the Anthropologie store on W. Putnam Avenue, including Greenwich Avenue and all side streets; Byram, Glenville and Pemberwick areas; Cos Cob/Riverside as well as Old Greenwich.

There will be one winner per geographic area judged by this distinction: Best Original or Classic Holiday Storefront. In case of a tie, both organizations will be recognized.

The judging begins on Monday, Dec. 1 and will run through Friday, Dec. 5. Winners will be announced and honored at the Wednesday, Dec. 10 Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party which will be held at Bruce Museum, One Museum Drive from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This party, with appetizers provided by Little Pub and wine by Cos Cob Liquors, is open to members and non-members. Raffle prize eligibility for attendees. RSVP is required. Contact Greenwich Chamber of Commerce at 203-869-3500 or [email protected]

Prizes include free advertising on the chamber’s website, a framed professional photo of the winning storefront and special recognition at the chamber’s holiday party.
