On Oct. 11, Julian Curtiss Elementary School held its first annual Family Fun Day in celebration of welcoming new and old families back to school. All JC families were invited to attend the social gathering and fund-raiser.

“It’s great to have the entire school community come together to enjoy one another’s company and to raise money for the school at the same time, “ Julian Curtiss School Principal Trish McGuire said. “If happiness and fun was the measure of success, then we tipped the scale on this day!”

While JC dads were grilling hot dogs on the barbeques, other parent and older sibling volunteers sold homemade chili, baked goods and other food generously donated by local vendors.

The students were busy dancing to the DJ, having their faces painted by their art teacher, LeAnne Hinkle, playing soccer and bowling games for prizes, and much more. One of the event highlights included a red carpet fashion show featuring JC students modeling brand new JC spiritwear.

The local business community graciously supported JC Family Fun Day.

The Julian Curtiss PTA thanks the following businesses for their contributions: Diane’s Book, Graham’s, Smart Kids, Wishlist, Firehouse Deli, Garden Catering, Gofer’s Ice Cream, Greenwich YMCA, James Daniel Entertainment, Costco and Stop ‘n Shop.
