Convent of the Sacred Heart presents ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

It is Christmas Eve and George Bailey, disheartened and overwhelmed, finds out just how wonderful life really is in this 1946 adaptation of the classic Frank Capra film, It’s a Wonderful Life.

This story has become a holiday tradition and the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich will present this pre-holiday performance on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. in the John and Lennie de Csepel Theater on campus at 1177 King Street, Greenwich. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults and will be sold at the door.

The cast will feature Upper School students Elizabeth Bachman, Miranda Falk, Gabrielle Giacomo, Annaliese Hummel, Zsanelle Morel, Kiki Ventura and Emma Wilfert.

“Using live sound effects, the cast will recreate Capra’s immortal classic, just as it would have been done 70 years ago, long before streaming-online, DVD’s or television,” director Nancy Maloy said. “The cast will transport the audience back in time, to a 1946 sound stage in New York City on a wintery Christmas Eve.”

Join the school community for this unique opportunity to be part of a live radio audience and share in the magic of an all-American classic. Stay after the play for caroling and pre-Christmas goodies.
