Volunteers needed for holiday lights

The holiday season is quickly approaching and that means a lot of hard work is coming to transform Greenwich into a winter wonderland. To assist with that, volunteers are needed in Binney Park.

As part of an annual town tradition, it’s time to dress up Binney Park in a sea of lights and The Riverside Association is looking for volunteers to join members on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. This group will work for about 90 minutes stringing holiday lights over lamp posts. According to the association, people will meet up on Arch Street up where the bridges cross the pond, at the northern end of the park.

For high schoolers in town this can provide community service hours. In addition to volunteers, two eight-foot ladders are needed as well.

In the event of inclement weather, a rain date is set for Nov. 23.
