Tour de Greenwich set for Sept. 16 at Greenwich High

The Volvo of Stamford Tour de Greenwich XXVIII, a 20-mile bicycle race through the windy roads of Greenwich, will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 at Greenwich High School.

The early entry fee is $35 and the entry fee on the day of the race is $45. All riders must wear ANSI approved helmets.

Dan Fox of Wilton won last year’s race that included 244 total finishers. Fox, runner-up Matt Armstrong of Cos Cob, and Wilton’s Carlos Restrepo all had times of 48 minutes, 50 seconds. Caroline Williams of Norwalk was the first of the 38 female finishers and 38th overall in 53:17.

The bicycle race is the seventh event in the Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup series of 10 events. The final three events of the series are Susannah’s Run at 9 a.m. on Oct. 14, the Beachfront Bushwhack/Max’s Mile at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, and the Pathways Jingle Bell Jog at 9 a.m. on Dec. 9.
