In the internet-age, many design and construction professionals recognize that potential clients are not looking in the yellow pages for their services.

Today’s computer-savvy homeowners are planning their next project with the help of website’s like Houzz.com, including searching for architects, interior designers, contractors and products. Murphy Brothers Contracting and Gibbons Digital hosted a recent series of presentations, Technology for Storytelling: How to reach new clients and engage a global community.

Facilitated by Houzz Community Team members Michael Stein and Katherine Nannizzi, each session revealed to architects, interior designers and contractors the hows on harnessing Houzz.com and its integrated technologies to improve their business efficiency, reach new prospective clients and streamline communications.

“It was amazing to see so many Fairfield and Westchester County home professionals who were being proactive in trying to learn how to enhance and expand their business through learning more about Houzz,” Mr. Stein said. “Our attendance was great, and there were so many questions and comments that showed me that Houzz really has created the best space for Home Professionals to get their names and their work out there to the thousands of homeowners in their area, and the millions of users we have around the country.”

With more than 25 million monthly unique users and a database containing more than 4.5 million photos of residential interior, exterior and landscape photos, Houzz.com is one of the hottest websites preferred by homeowners searching out ideas for their next renovation and remodeling project.

Sponsorship partners for these terrific educational and fun events were Interstate + Lakeland Lumber, Klaffs, Aitoros Appliances, Andersen Windows, Benjamin Moore, Soundworks Inc. and Westchester Home magazine. Over $2,000 was raised from the events to benefit the Food Bank for Westchester.
