Brunswick water polo blasts Choate 18-6, secures N.E. tourney top seed

The Brunswick School water polo concluded the New England Prep School Water Polo League schedule Saturday afternoon with a home meet against Choate Rosemary Hall and picked up the 18-6 victory.

Brunswick finished the regular season with an 11-0 league record and 15-2 overall.

Against Choate Rosemary Hall on Saturday, Brunswick was paced by Pat Stefanou’s six goals, followed by Will Marvin’s five tallies and Simon Derby’s four. Julian Ronda, Alex Prout and Lucas Bell rounded-out the scoring with single goals each. Charlie Pang and Jack Ocken had quiet days in the net for Brunswick. Charlie made four saves and Jack made two.

Next Sunday, Brunswick will host the New England Championship Tournament. With the victory against Choate, Brunswick secured the No. 1 seed in the tournament, while Deerfield Academy has secured the second seed. Hopkins, Exeter, Andover and Suffield will play this week to decide who the third and fourth seeds are going to be.
