Church’s ‘Homecoming’ to be held Sept. 9

The Second Congregational Church is inviting the community to its Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, Sept. 9

This annual homecoming worship service and barbecue will take place Sunday at the church at 139 E. Putnam Avenue. The service will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the free barbecue luncheon, including an ice cream truck, at about 11 a.m.

“We’re eager to celebrate the beginning of a new program year, especially for our church school, and to tell people what’s been happening at the church recently,” the Rev. Maxwell Grant, the church’s senior minister said. “Among highlights this summer, we sent our youth choir to Rome, completed a mission trip to South Dakota, and started a church vegetable garden, so we have a lot of information to share.”

For reservations for the luncheon and further information, please contact Gloria LaDestro, church office manager, at 203-869-9311, ext. 120 or [email protected]
