Cheese lovers unite at Balducci’s Cheesetopia

Normally being cheesy is not a good thing. But it sure will be when it’s Cheesetopia at Balducci’s Food Lovers Market in Greenwich on Saturday, Oct. 25.

This is the second year of this annual event and it is the place for cheese lovers to be this coming weekend.

The complimentary event will take place both at the Balducci’s Greenwich location at 1050 East Putnam Avenue and the Westport location at 1385 Post Road East from 2 to 5 p.m.

Balducci’s is calling it “the ultimate epicurean experience” and will feature the expertise of John Coleman the wine and cheese buyer Balducci’s Food Lovers Market.

But Mr. Coleman won’t be the only cheese expert on hand as the store promises to have other renowned cheesemongers who will be able to advise people on the very best kind of pairings and cheese plates to put together.

Additionally there will be gourmet cheese tastings of Grafton Village Cheddars with two year, four year and six year versions side by side for comparison as well as new artisanal cheeses like Mediterranean Raclette, which is a garlic, black olive and sundried tomato infused cheese from the cheese makers at Roth Kase and Raw Milk Cheeses, which are very much like the Swiss Challerhocke. And cheese lovers will also be able to savor cheese Delicacies prepared by Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market’s Corporate Executive Chef Jason Miller.
