Walsh earns Y’s excellence award

Greenwich attorney Kevin Walsh recently received the Lou Ferraro YMCA Excellence Award at the organization’s 18th Annual Lou Ferraro Golf Classic.

The Lou Ferraro YMCA Excellence Award honors individuals whose impressive volunteer work directly impacts the YMCA.

Their efforts have reached above and beyond supporting the YMCA’s mission to create programming that encourages healthy living and provides opportunities for all in our community to have access to them.

“Like Lou, Kevin has been a true friend of the YMCA,” Jim Cabrera, chairman of the YMCA Board of Directors said. “He and his firm, Whitman Breed, have generously donated countless hours of legal and tax advice. Their support of the YMCA, its mission and position within the community has allowed us to complete the renovations to our facility and to become the community center Greenwich needs and deserves. We are honored to recognize Kevin for his support and hard work.”

Mr. Walsh said, “I am honored to receive this award and to be linked to men like Lou Ferraro who gave so much of themselves to the Greenwich YMCA and the ideals for which it stands. The restructuring was successful due to the extraordinary efforts of the Board, led by the tireless work of Jim Cabrera and the staff of the YMCA. I am happy to have played a role.”

Mr. Walsh joined the Greenwich law firm of Whitman Breed in 1994. He is currently the head of the firm’s Tax Department and is a member of the Business Law Department and the Trusts and Estates Department.
