Marotta to discuss bipolar disorder

Psychiatrist Rocco Marotta will give a presentation on Bipolar Disorder: Differential Diagnosis and Treatment tonight, Oct, 9, in Greenwich.

He will speak about identifying, treating and living with bipolar disorder most effectively for patient, family and loved ones. The event will take place at 7:30 at Town Hall at 101 Field Point Road. Hosted by the Southwest CT affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the presentation is free and open to the public. Call 203-388-1603 for information.

Often misdiagnosed and misunderstood, bipolar disorder can be challenging to treat and devastating to live with. Mr. Marotta will discuss diagnosis and treatment approaches for those suffering with the disorder, as well as strategies and resources for their loved ones.

Dr. Marotta is the Adult Transitional Living Program service chief at Silver Hill Hospital, associate clinical professor of psychiatry at New York Medical College and fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
