Get a dose of Renaissance Florence

Toscana Trattoria in Greenwich is promising a night of dazzling musical performances on Sept. 6 to inaugurate its new entertainment program, Tosca at Toscana.

The event will feature Greenwich resident Claire Stadtmueller, fresh from her acclaimed performance as Tosca in Puccini’s opera in New York’s Central Park. A soprano, Ms. Stadtmueller has also performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, on National Public Radio and in Italy.

Ms. Stadtmueller will be joined by pianist Earl Buys who has played for the Metropolitan Opera and numerous other prominent opera companies throughout the United States and Europe. They will performing opera, musical theater and jazz standards as patrons enjoy Tuscan cuisine in an ambiance reminiscent of Renaissance Florence.

Toscana Trattoria opened its doors in May 2011 and was recently awarded Moffly Media’s 2012 “Best Italian Restaurant” in Greenwich award.

Toscana Trattoria’s owner Paul W. Ardaji is planning on celebrating the restaurant’s success by presenting “exceptional musical performances” to his patrons on a weekly basis.

The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m., at Toscana Trattoria on 33 Lewis Street.
