It will be a worthy gala when retiring Greenwich Hospital president and CEO, Frank A. Corvino, will be presented with the Chairman’s Award at Venezia, the hospital’s annual fund-raiser, on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Greenwich Country Club.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the hospital’s oncology services.

Mr. Corvino, who will step down at the end of December after 26 years, is credited with leading the transformation of Greenwich Hospital from a small, community hospital to a regional medical center with a national reputation for high-quality health care and excellent customer service.

Guests attending this black tie event will enjoy cocktails starting 6 p.m. amid the Venetian-inspired décor of renowned New York designer Reed McIlvaine of Renny & Reed Floral Event Designs. The evening will also feature an exciting array of auction items including a trip to Coco Point, Barbuda, a Bulgari necklace, a private dinner at Babbo in New York City, a Nancy Gonzalez handbag, and Bill Clinton’s saxophone.

Rounding out the evening will be a theme-inspired dinner and dancing to the fun music of the Billy Stone Band of Hank Lane Music. Pound Ridge resident Melanie Ulrich Baschkin and Greenwich resident Nisha Hurst are the creative co-chairs. Simon Teakle will serve as the evening’s master of ceremonies and special guest auctioneer.

Event sponsors include Acqua Panna, B&B Hospitality Group, Betteridge Jewelers, The Dilenschneider Group, ENCON Indoor Comfort & Energy Solutions, Greenwich Magazine, Manfredi Jewels, Marcum LLP, NEBCO Insurance Services, LLC, The Osborn, Perrier, Richards of Greenwich, Saks Fifth Avenue Greenwich, Serendipity Magazine, S.
