Greenwich author Wendy Aronsson will be speaking at The Wainwright House in Rye, N.Y., on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

The author of Refeathering the Empty Nest: Life After the Children Leave, Ms. Aronsson will offer guests practical advice on how they can make the transition from full-time to free range parents while building stronger, healthier relationships with their young adults.

The talk will run from 10 to noon. Ms. Aronsson is a licensed psychotherapist with decades of experience at her own practice in Greenwich. Her book focuses on parents who have dedicated years of their lives to helping their kids grow and now have to fill a void inside themselves when those kids leave for college. While suddenly having an empty nest brings about big changes for parents, it also creates new opportunities that Ms. Aronsson, who has two grown sons of her own, said parents should be excited to explore..
