SCORE Workshop focuses on start-ups

SCORE Fairfield County and Greenwich Library are teaming up to present a free Small Business Workshop Series, Simple Steps for Starting Your Business: Five Workshops to Lead You to Start-Up Success, on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The program will go from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and check-in starts at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at Greenwich Library, 101 West Putnam Avenue.

Thinking about starting your own business? Or are you just starting but are having trouble getting it off the ground? SCORE’s Simple Steps for Starting Your Business is designed to avoid start-up pitfalls and put you on the road to success.

The first session will cover what is involved in starting a small business — the challenges, the opportunities, and the requirements. It is meant to help people decide whether they really want to start their own business. The remaining four sessions will focus on the key fundamentals of running a business, including marketing strategy, financial planning and funding.

Poeple participating will also have the opportunity to meet with and ask questions of successful entrepreneurs.
