Saks and SNL to benefit hospital with Key to the Cure

Saks Fifth Avenue has announced that Will Ferrell, Ana Gasteyer, Vanessa Bayer, Cecily Strong and Colin Jost have been named as the EIF ambassadors for Saks Fifth Avenue’s 2014 Key To The Cure campaign which will benefit Greenwich Hospital.

These stars represent talent from Saturday Night Live’s past and current casts and will be shot by SNL photographer Mary Ellen Matthews. New York designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville of rag & bone, which has a Greenwich Avenue location, have created the limited-edition T-shirt exclusively to benefit the campaign, which coincides with the Emmy Award-winning show’s 40th Anniversary season.

Now in its 16th year, Key to the Cure has taken a new approach, offering a unisex T-shirt for the first time. The shirt will retail for $35 at Saks Fifth Avenue stores and online at and All of the proceeds from each shirt sold in Greenwich will be donated to Greenwich Hospital to support finding new detection methods, better treatments and eventual cures for women’s cancers.

The shirt made its debut at Saks Fifth Avenue’s Greenwich location on Oct. 1 and is on sale now.

The current and past SNL cast members will appear in a national public service announcement wearing the rag & bone shirt. During the shopping weekend, two percent of participating vendor sales will be donated to Greenwich Hospital and its fall gala, Venezia, which is raising funds for oncology services at the hospital.

In the 15 years since the inception of the Saks Fifth Avenue charity shopping weekend, the retailer has raised more than $35 million for cancer research.
