The League of Women Voters of Greenwich will host two consecutive debates for candidates for the 149th and 150th General Assembly Districts on Monday, Oct. 6, at the Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room from 7 to 9 p.m.

The first debate will be for candidates for the 149th District followed immediately by the debate for candidates for the open 150th seat. Running for the 149th District are incumbent state Rep. Livvy Floren, Republican, and her opponent, Democrat Marc Abrams. In the 150th District, Republican Mike Bocchino and Democrat Jill Oberlander are the candidates for the open seat.

The Round Hill, Northeastern Greenwich, and Northwestern Greenwich neighborhood associations are co-sponsoring the event.

Voters are invited to attend and bring their questions for the candidates. Questions may also be submitted via email to [email protected] There will also be a brief, nonpartisan presentation on the constitutional amendment that will be appearing on the ballot: “Shall the Constitution of the State of Connecticut be amended to remove restrictions concerning absentee ballots and to permit a person to vote without appearing at a polling place on the date of election?”
