People had every reason to eat, drink and be merry as the annual Greenwich Wine+Food Festival came to town this past weekend.

From Thursday through Saturday, central Greenwich was a gourmet’s delight as internationally known chefs and restaurants from all over the area came to town. Close to 5,000 attendees came to the three-day festival, enjoying food from more than 100 restaurants and food venders, sampling top wines, beers and spirits and listening to music from groups like Alabama, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Bacon Brothers.

This was the fourth year of the festival and it took place over the course of Thursday and Friday night and then the all-day Saturday fun, which included the Culinary Village tents set up in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park where people could walk through and sample the very best in food and drink. That culminated a series of events including the 2014 Most Innovative Chef Gala at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park where Geoffrey Zakarian and Jean-Georges were honored and a charity raw bar event at L’Escale.

The event, which was presented by Serendipity magazine, was all to benefit The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a non-profit dedicated to helping children with cancer, sickle cell anemia and other serious conditions.

In addition to the music, wine and food, there were also celebrity chef demonstration and the second annual Burger Battle (won by Plan B in Stamford for the second year in a row) to determine who cooks up the best hamburger in town and Adam Patrick taking home the prize in the first contest of the Top Bartender Showdown. Additionally there were book signings from celebrity chefs, Greenwich resident Kathie Lee Gifford showed off her new brand of wines and even reunited with her former talk show co-host Regis Philbin.
