Saturday, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m., Temple Sholom will host Bernd Reindl, consul for political and scientific development for the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York, as the keynote speaker during afternoon Yom Kippur services.

Mr. Reindl will present, “Germany and the Jews Today — A New Narrative” for an audience comprised of several hundred Jewish members of Fairfield and Westchester counties, as well as the greater New York City area.

“With the current wave of anti-Semitism that is moving across Europe, we are thrilled to bring such a high level representative from Germany, the leading country of the European Union, to offer his personal assessment,” AJC Connecticut Committee Chair Mona Abramson said.

Prior to serving as German consul for political and scientific development in New York, Mr. Reindl had an extensive career in the Foreign Service for the Federal Republic of Germany. Most recently, he was the directorate general for disarmament and arms control in the Federal Foreign Office.

Mr. Reindl will share his extensive personal and professional knowledge on the current state of affairs. The event is open to the community. To register or for more information, contact Lori Baden at 203-542-7172.
