Sacred Heart soccer upends Hamden Hall, 3-2

The Convent of the Sacred Heart soccer team picked up another victory earlier today, as they traveled up to Hamden and beat Hamden Hall Country Day School 3-2.

The victory didn’t come easy for the Tigers, as they were trailing early. Hamden Hall’s Doria Weiss found the back of the net within the first seven minutes of the game.

The Tigers came roaring back midway through the match. In the 44th minute, freshman Erin Casey got the ball at the right side corner and blasted a shot that landed in the top corner of the net for the goal.

Only three minutes later, sophomore Ellen Pucel gave Sacred Heart a 2-1 lead when she also hit the top left corner of the net.

After Hamden Hall tied the game 2-2, it was junior Tracey Hagan that gave the TIgers the go-ahead goal at the 77th minute, as she was at the right side of the box near post.

Sacred Heart’s Alessandra Nocco, a junior, finished with four saves. The Tigers ended the game with 18 shots on goal.
