Indoor field hockey clinics set for Greenwich’s Bendheim Western Civic Center

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that it will be starting indoor field hockey clinics starting Sunday, Nov. 23, and running for five weeks ending Dec. 21.

Registration for these Sunday clinics will begin by mail only starting Monday, Oct. 20 to Oct. 24. In-person registration will begin on Monday, Oct. 27 until classes are full at the Bendheim Western Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Road.

There will be sessions for children eight to 12 years of age.  The first session will meet from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. for children eight- and nine-years-old. The second session will be from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for children 10- to 12-years-old.

The program will help children develop skills in stick work, passing, receiving, shooting, basic offensive and defensive skills and small sided games.

Caitlin Keane will be teaching this fun instructive class to the players. Keane has a tremendous amount of experience playing and coaching field hockey.  From 2008 to 2011 she was a Greenwich High School varsity field hockey assistant coach. In 2012 she coached GHS junior varsity field hockey program and is presently coaching Central Middle School’s field hockey team.
