Floren is the obvious choice in November

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

What happens when an incredibly outstanding person tries to retire from a position in government? The public refuses to allow it.

Livvy Floren is running again for state representative in the 149th District because there was a huge outcry of support from her entire district as well as from constituents on both sides of the aisle.

Her consistent stream of mailings and e-mails are invariably informative, readable and helpful. She keeps in constant contact regarding statewide projects, environmental concerns and legislative bills. Some are actually detrimental to our well-being. She alerts us as to what may need positive or negative support.

Livvy helps to plan and then follows up by participating in innumerable projects and events which will impact all of our lives. She has held many leadership positions in various organizations in Greenwich, including service on the RTM and the Board of Estimate and Taxation which prepared her well for her current responsibility as assistant Republican leader in the House.

Livvy’s current assignments in Hartford are on the Finance Revenue and Bonding Committee, General Bonding Subcommittee and the Committee on Aging.

Livvy’s instant responsiveness to aid in the many concerns or needs of her constituents can be illustrated by my own experience in connection with a ward who had been assigned to me by the Probate Court.

When a legislator shows such outstanding qualities and performance such as Livvy has demonstrated, reelection should be an obvious choice.
