Fall has arrived and election season is in the air. That means it’s time for the annual Cos Cob Republican Club Clambake, which is this Sunday, Sept. 28, at Greenwich Point.

It is one of the biggest Republican events in Greenwich and with the governor’s mansion firmly in Republican sights it will be an opportunity to whip up the party faithful for one last push toward Election Day. The clambake is put together by the club and the Greenwich Republican Town Committee and it will begin at 1 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Greenwich Point’s Clambake Area.

As always, people will be able to help themselves to the clam bar and clam chowder and will have a choice of lobster, steak, swordfish, chicken or a vegetarian option. However, the lobster is only available with a reservation, so do so now. There will be plenty of entertainment options for kids and the event is slated to take place rain or shine.

This will be more than just a day to enjoy the outdoors. The goal is to elect Republicans in November, and a full roster of speakers is set to begin at 2. This year tentatively included are Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley, a Greenwich resident, and former State Sen. Dan Debicella, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-4th). Heather Somers, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, will also appear as will First Selectman Peter Tesei, Selectman David Theis, State Sen. L. Scott Frantz and State Reps. Livvy Floren and Fred Camillo. Michael Bocchino, state representative candidate for the 150th District, is also expected.

Register to attend by going online to GreenwichRTC.com. Tickets are $50 per adult and $5 per child. Children eat free. Email questions to [email protected]
