It’s an annual event beloved by creatures big and small. This Sunday, Sept. 28, the Blessing of the Animals service returns.

The service will take place at 10 a.m. at the Round Hill Community House. The annual event is known to bring joy to the lives of pet owners as they are able to bring their animal friends to the church for the special blessing. Cats and dogs, and even fish and birds, are known to appear.

The church says it “will welcome all creatures great and small as we give thanks for the role they have had in our lives.” People from all over town bring their pets to the service and some even bring a picture or stuffed animal in memory of beloved pets that have died.

A coffee hour follows the service and treats will be available for two- and four-legged attendees. The Community House is at 397 Round Hill Road.
