Greenwich High girls swim team blasts Danbury, 94-54

The Greenwich High School girls swimming and diving team was in control of its meet against Danbury High School yesterday afternoon right from the start, as they beat the Hatters 94-54.

Right from the start, Big Red grabbed the early lead. In the 200-yard freestyle, Greenwich’s Patty Kohn took first with a time of 2:04.58. Not to be outdone was Riley Ennis, who grabbed the silver with a time of 2:06.11. In third was Sarah Bellamy, who took home a time of 2:06.31.

The Lady Cardinals also took the top three spots in the next two race.

In the 200-yard individual medley. Brooke Collins grabbed gold with a time of 2:15.03, while Kelly Montesi finished second with a time of 2:17.27. In third was Kellen Carlson, as she touched the wall with a time of 2:26.28.

During the 50-yard freestyle, no one was faster than Greenwich’s Sophia Jahan, as she finished first with a time of 25.78 seconds. Isobel Walker took home the silver with a time of 26.26. Taking the bronze was Aingligh Winget, who had a time of 26.37.

Montesi also grabbed first place in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:01.00. In the 100-yard freestyle, Riley Ennis grabbed top honors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.41, while Kohn took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:36.38.
