Keep town ‘Green and Clean’

greenandcleanFall is in the air and it’s the perfect time to focus on making sure Greenwich is at its loveliest in the autumn. To that end, Greenwich Green and Clean has an annual event set for this weekend.

The Townwide Fall Cleanup and International Coastal Inventory will be held Saturday, Sept. 20. Stop at any town firehouse from 8 to noon for community service certificates as well as litter bags, gloves and refreshments.

Trash can also be traded in for daffodil bulbs, and Dumpsters will be available until 4 p.m. Old, unneeded cell phones will also be taken for recycling. Greenwich Green and Clean sponsors events throughout the year and all over town for volunteers to help beautify Greenwich.

To help or to report a dirty site, call 203-531-0006 or email [email protected] But there’s more coming after that, as the annual paper shredding day will be on Saturday, Nov. 1. More details will be released soon.
