Friends of Autistic People (FAP) attended a cookout party held at a private waterfront home at Shippan Point in Stamford on Aug. 2.

The annual gathering was hosted by renowned award-winning artist Donald Axleroad, who is the founder of the ARI Artist Initiative program. Mr. Axleroad, a supporter of FAP, launched the art classes at ARI in 2003.

It was a great opportunity for participants of the ARI of Stamford Arts and Crafts program to meet some of the families of FAP. This event was a wonderful day of friendship and great food was enjoyed by all.

In addition, FAP President Brita Darany von Regensburg has been invited by Mr. Axleroad to present on autism to the Greenwich Arts Council on the occasion of his retrospective given by the council in his honor.

The opening reception will be open to the public and will take place on Nov. 4.
