Greenwich High field hockey edges Danbury, 1-0

The Greenwich High School field hockey team held its opposition scoreless for the second consecutive game. However this time they were able to come away with the victory, as the Cardinals blanked Danbury High School 1-0 earlier today at Cardinal Stadium.

Tania Iskandar scored the lone goal late in the second half, as she took the ball from Malena Etchegaray and found the back of the net.

Leah Hotaling was stellar in net for Big Red, as the goalie finished with eight saves for the shutout. In front of Hotaling was the outstanding defense of GHS, led by Sarah Cicchetti and Anne Dunster.

On Saturday, against rival Cheshire High School, defense was on full disply as Big Red and the Rams came away with the scoreless tie.
