Calling all boys who want to have fun in the outdoors, the 2014 Greenwich Cub Fun Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 20, at Camp Seton, 363 Riversville Road.

All boys, grades first through fifth, are invited to attend. Activities will range from climbing the bouldering wall to shooting archery and BBs, along with Scouting relay games, a Scout craft project and s’mores for dessert.

Come see how Cub Scouting offers exciting activities while helping build lifelong friends, unforgettable memories and offering important lessons in teamwork and “doing your best.” The event will take place, rain or shine, and people attending can enjoy lunch starting at 11 a.m. with the Cub Fun Day activities taking place until 2.

Adventure, leadership, service and learning, especially in the outdoors, have remained essential to the Greenwich Scouting experience since its inception in 1912. Nearly 2,600 local youth participate in fun programs, like Cub Fun Day, run by 350 dedicated volunteers, all of which help prepare local boys and girls for life. With more than 18 partnering organizations and Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Exploring opportunities in Greenwich, Scout officials say there’s never been a better time to join the Scouting community.
