Registration underway for Greenwich fall field hockey

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration is currently underway for its fall field hockey program.

The program is open to those in third grade (must turn 8-years-old Dec. 31, 2012) through eighth grade. Instruction will take place at the Greenwich High School turf field on Saturday afternoons. Some traveling is required and games may be played on Saturday mornings and afternoons.

Registration is limited to 50 players per age group. Third and fourth graders will meet from noon to 1 p.m., while fifth and sixth graders will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Students in grades seven and eight will meet from 2 to 3 p.m.

The program starts Saturday, Sept.  8 and runs through Nov. 3. An occasional Wednesday afternoon practice at Pemberwick Park Field will take place. Emily Townsend Prince will be directing the program. Mouth guards, eye guards and shin guards are required.
