Dancin’ in the street

Supporters of Family Centers put on their dancing shoes last month at the organization’s biggest fund-raiser of the year, which pulled in nearly $540,000 for the community organization.

Family Centers event co-chairs Allison Bourke, Abby Bowers, Pam Caffray, Patti Fast and Nonie Sullivan planned what they called a multi-sensory experience with plenty of attractions for the organization’s Dancin’ in the Street benefit.

The event attracted more than 350 people with gourmet food trucks, 3-D chalk art, a giant Ferris Wheel, break dancers and more. Guests were also treated to an acoustic performance by Fairfield County band, Finster, in a beer garden sponsored by Coalhouse Pizza and Harpoon Brewery.

The money raised supports the non-profit organization’s human service, health and education programs. For more information, visit Familycenters.org.
