Nathaniel Witherell to hold Annual Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament

The Friends of the Nathaniel Witherell invite you to join them on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Seventh Annual Witherell Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament at the Stanwich Club, 888 North Street.

Spend the day on the golf course and support the town’s Nathaniel Witherell Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at the same time. The event will begin with a 10:30 a.m. check-In, 12:45 p.m. opening shot gun, and an awards dinner and auction will be held at 5:30 p.m

This year’s sports celebrities include: Craig Bingham, a former Pittsburgh Steeler Linebacker; Jeff Feagles, Giant All-Pro Punter and 2007 Super Bowl Champion; Chuck Mercein, former six-year NFL Running Back for the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers; and Sue Merz, U.S. Women’s Olympic Hockey Team Gold and Silver Medalist.

The participating golfers and sports celebrities will help raise funds to enhance the lives of the residents of The Nathaniel Witherell, a skilled nursing facility that offers short-term rehabilitation services and long-term care for many of the town’s elderly citizens. Golfers will enjoy lunch, followed by 18 holes of golf. The event will conclude with a cocktail reception and dinner, complete with silent and live auctions and awards presentation.

The fees is are as follows: $625 for one golfer: includes lunch, round of golf and awards dinner,

$2,500 for a golf foursome, also including lunch, round of golf and awards dinner, $500 for tee sponsorship and $150 for the awards dinner only.
