Marion Belmonte, 90, former Greenwich resident, caregiver

Marion P. Belmonte, 90, of Trumbull and formerly of Greenwich, died on Aug. 18.

The widow of William A. Belmonte after 64 years of marriage, Ms. Belmonte died in her home and was remembered by family as a homemaker, a consummate caregiver and family peacemaker. Family recalled the love the couple had for their granddaughter, Alana, and the love and nurturing Ms. Belmonte showed to her extended family and friends.

While in Greenwich, she was very active at Sacred Heart Church in Greenwich and worked with the elderly at St. Joseph’s Manor for many years.

Ms. Belmonte is survived by Rocco and Mary Belmonte of Ridgefield; Emelia (Emmy) Sarica and Andreas Senie of Trumbull; her former son-in-law, Anthony “Buddy” Sarica of Bridgeport; her four grandchildren, Dorian Belmonte of Maryland, Rachel Oleson of Califrnia and Isaac “Zac” and Gianna Sarica of Trumbull; her two brothers, Lou Carparelli of Harrison, N.Y., and Angelo Carparelli of Chicago, Ill., and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters and her granddaughter, Alana.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 22 at St. Theresa Church in Trumbull followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich.
