On June 10, Greenwich Hospital hosted “Surviving Cancer” in honor of the community’s cancer survivors.

“We are here to celebrate you and the fact that the number of survivors like you continues to grow every year,” hospital President and CEO Frank Corvino said as he opened the event. “This is our opportunity to celebrate your strength and victories as we look toward a brighter future and continued good health.”

Survivors, friends and families were invited to reconnect with one another as well as the hospital’s volunteers and oncology staff.

“It’s great to come back to the hospital each year to see my doctors during a happy event and a happy time like this,” cancer survivor Karen Powlski said.

Pathologist Richard Eisen also received the 2014 Greenwich Hospital Breast Center Award during the event for his contribution to the breast cancer program.
