Back to the Garden 1969 in concert series

gl-Back-to-garden-8-7The Department of Parks and Recreation announced that Back to the Garden 1969 will be in concert on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

In case of bad weather, the rain date is the next day Thursday, Aug. 14.

Back To The Garden 1969 is a group of professional musicians who have performed together in various combinations over the years, and have now come together to celebrate the music and spirit of the Woodstock era. The band is presenting the variety of classic sounds associated with Woodstock, including acoustic and electric rock, acid rock, soul music, and folk.

The musical performances are a tribute to the artists who made Woodstock great, and are performed in the style of those artists. The band also appears in 60s period fashion, and will use sound clips and lighting to recreate the mood of the festival.
