Greenwich middle school students honored

Four Greenwich middle school students were recently honored by McDonald’s and the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) for being amongst the state’s top scholar leaders.

George Crist and Casey Kelly of Central Middle School and Nicholas Szabo and Jessica Cheng of Eastern Middle School were commended for their academic work and joined students from Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Norwalk, Redding, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston, Westport and Wilton. They were all recognized as the state’s top scholar leaders at the 2012 CAS Scholar Leader Banquet sponsored by the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association.

“McDonald’s is proud to partner with CAS to recognize Connecticut’s top middle school students. These scholar-leaders have earned impressive achievements in both the classroom and in their local communities,” says Rachel Deane, president of the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association. “McDonald’s wishes this year’s Scholar Leader recipients all the best for continued success in the future.”

The award is presented to one male and one female student in each middle school whose record of academic achievement and service are considered “truly exemplary, whose personal standards and accomplishments are a model for others and who possess high levels of integrity, self discipline, honesty and courage.”
