Lake Avenue Bridge to close for replacement

On Aug. 4, construction will begin on the Lake Avenue Bridge Superstructure Replacement project necessitating a road closure and detour.

The bridge is on Lake Avenue north of Wooddale Road. As part of the construction work the road is scheduled to be closed at the bridge site from Aug. 4 to Aug. 25. The project is scheduled to be completed by November.

Due to the closure, the following detour will be established: traffic wanting to travel northbound on Lake Avenue shall utilize Grahampton Lane east to Clapboard Ridge Road northwest to Lake Avenue. Traffic wanting to travel southbound on Lake Avenue shall utilize Clapboard Ridge Road east to Grahampton Road west to Lake Avenue.

The project was designed by GM2 Associates of Glastonbury. The construction will be performed by A. Vitti Excavators, LLC of Stamford. The construction contract for the project is for $228,922.50.
