Greenwich woman allegedly threatens housekeeper with golf club, steals purse

A Greenwich woman is under arrest after allegedly threatening and robbing her housekeeper.

Shari Lampert, 56, of 8 Round Hill Lane was arrested last Friday, July 25, and charged with disorderly conduct and fifth degree larceny. Police had been called to the scene after receiving of a complaint about a physical altercation between the woman and her housekeeper, whom Ms. Lampert apparently thought had damaged something inside her home. Police investigated the complaint and determined probable cause existed for an arrest, but not of the housekeeper. Rather it was Ms. Lampert who was charged.

According to Lt. Kraig Gray, public information officer for the Greenwich Police Department, Ms. Lampert and the victim got into a “tumultuous argument” over what she believed was damage done within the residence as the victim was working. Ms. Lampert allegedly demanded restitution for that damage and, when she did not receive it, became violent.

Ms. Lampert allegedly brandished a golf club toward the victim while demanding the money. Police said she then entered the housekeeper’s car, went through her purse and removed all of her cash.

Police were called after the incident allegedly took place. Lt. Gray said there were no injuries suffered.

This is not Ms. Lampert’s first brush with the law. She has a driving under the influence arrest from 2013, and in 2012 was charged with driving a car purposely through a garage door after police responded to the scene and allegedly found her screaming at the front door of the residence with damage to her vehicle and the garage.

Ms. Lampert’s bail was set at $2,000 and, upon posting it, she was released from custody. She is due in court Aug. 1.
