Old Greenwich's A.G. Williams: Creating a ‘haven’ for working women

A.G. Williams, with an office at 26 Arcadia Road in Old Greenwich, has entered into a partnership with Her Haven to try and provide transformations in the lives of deserving women. For a woman who is selected, this project involves a complete redesign and remodel of a significant space in her life, either in her home or office.

By renovating a room to fit the recipient’s life and goals, Her Haven seeks to inspire women “… to live fuller, richer, more productive lives.”

“I was thrilled to see the strong support of members of our community at our launch celebration on May 17,” said Carey Dougherty, founder and executive director at Her Haven. “Having the support of companies like A.G. Williams Painting Company is so critical to our mission of bringing a little piece of peace to women through a well-designed space. With their help and with the help of other corporate sponsors, Her Haven looks forward to ‘designing a difference’ for the many deserving women in our communities who quietly serve.”

A.G. Williams is donating the professional craftsmanship for the first two Her Haven projects, which is valued at up to $2,500. Additional services in design and construction are being provided by Fairfield University’s Interior Design program and by Habitat for Humanity.

“Every home I go in seems to have an office for the man in the family. I think it’s about time we recognize that the women in our lives deserve and need a space of their own.” said Doug Kitchen, CT account representative for A.G. Williams. “The way Her Haven is honoring these ladies strikes a chord with me, and I’m thrilled A.G. Williams can have a part in it.”
