Parents, Autism activists and nonprofit leaders recently gathered in Hartford to observe a day of Autism Awareness and Greenwich’s Friends of Autistic People (FAP) was there.

The program included a buffet breakfast followed by a program of speeches and proclamations. The official celebration was attended by numerous legislators from around the state, spearheaded by State Rep. Cathy Abercrombie and Controller Kevin Lembo and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman.

Governor Dan Malloy also showed his support for the autistic community by attending.

FAP was represented by town resident Brita Darany von Regensburg.
