Shoppers were already browsing before the clock even struck 9 a.m. as various stores brought their merchandise outside for people to look at. Deep discounts will be offered throughout the weekend as the annual event is not only one of the most popular shopping experiences of the year it is also one with some of the most foot traffic of the year. Because of that various community groups will be setting up tables and everyone from Equinox Gym to St. Mary Church are getting in on the action, holding sales and offering demonstrations to get the attention of shoppers who come from all over Connecticut and New York.

This weekend there will be entertainment for the whole family. On Saturday and Sunday there will be face painting and balloon artists from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Greenwich Avenue and caricatures from Partycartoons.com from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. there will be live music by the JD Southard Band and on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. there will be music from Barbara’s Serenade.

HANradio.com went on the air at noon with a live broadcast outside the Greenwich Senior Center and people are invited to stop by. HANRadio.com won’t just be in Greenwich this week though as they are setting up on Friday in Darien for its sidewalk sales and then Saturday in Wilton. Next week HANradio.com will be at sales in New Canaan and Ridgefield.
