Greenwich Land Trust plans Kayak trip

Join The Greenwich Land Trust for an outdoor adventure exploring the beautiful scenery and wildlife of Greenwich’s Shell and Calf Islands July 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kayakers will paddle from Byram Beach to Shell Island, a five-acre property owned by the GLT, and can also enjoy guided tours of neighboring Calf Island hosted by the Calf Island Conservancy. Naturalists will be available on both islands to discuss the numerous inhabitants of Long Island Sound.

This is a great opportunity to learn from experts about the ecology and history of these coastal habitats and spot the many plants and animals that call these islands home. Be sure to pack a picnic and if you have a kayak, bring it along.

Suggested donations for the event are $25 per family, visit GLTrust.org to register. Kayaks can be rented through Greenwich Community Sailing.
