Norman Lethbridge, 84, teacher and Air Force officer

Greenwich resident Norman Lethbridge, 84, died June 26 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport.

Mr. Lethbridge is survived by his wife, Joyce, sons Gregg and Drew, and granddaughters Kristen and Brenna. According to his family, he was born in Woodhaven, N.Y., to Rodney and Grace Lethbridge and graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School before earning bachelor’s, master’s and advanced degrees from New York University. He also completed multiple Air Force Staff College assignments.

Mr. Lethbridge was a teacher for 41 years in White Plains, N.Y., and continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

His family recalled his love of the Greenwich Boy Scouts. His sons were both Eagle Scouts and Mr. Lethbridge was active for years in town.

There will be memorial services later this year. The family said it would appreciate memorial gifts in his name be made to Neighbor to Neighbor, 247 W. Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830.
