Floren’s work and passion set her apart

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

Editor’s note: The following letter was adapted from a speech the author gave at the nominating convention for State Rep. Livvy Floren (R-149th).

When you think of the qualities that you want in an elected official, how many of us immediately picture State Rep. Livvy Floren?

Livvy’s intellect, passion and purpose are impossible to match. Her knowledge of the issues is encyclopedic. Her belief in good government and adherence to sound fiscal policy are passions. And she is completely devoted to serving her constituents in Greenwich and Stamford.

Her advocacy for the environment is second to none. She recently helped to preserve as open space 1,000 acres of maritime forest. Her longstanding support for our seniors, including her work to secure a $500,000 state grant for the renovation of Nathaniel Witherell, is reflective of her commitment.

The lives of residents in the 149th District have been made better by Livvy’s actions and her votes. There are few people in Hartford who are held in such high regard by both constituents and colleagues. Her continued pledge to work with anyone of either political party to find common sense solutions sets her apart and has led to real reform.

Please join me in supporting Livvy Floren for another term.
