Greenwich-based Cheer Fitness finishing up first week, ready for second

The cheerleaders at Greenwich-based Cheer Fitness are hard at work during this week’s first session of its annual summer camp and gearing up for the second week.

The two-week cheerleading clinic, held at the Greenwich Western Civic Center, started on Monday with teh first session, however there’s still room for cheerleaders or future cheerleaders to attend. The price if $140 for the second session. If someone was already in the first session and has decided to return for the second session, the price for both is $200.

The second session starts on Monday and runs until Friday.

In the younger group, the cheerleaders will learn to cheer, chant and play constructive cheerleading games. On the last day of the session, parents are welcome to stop by the Civic Center to see the routine that the students learned during their camp experience.

The high school level sessions will be more extensive, working on cheers, chants and stunts. During the second session there will be a day where a Zumba instructor, a stunting coodinator and a choreogrpaher will be present.

The lead instructor for Cheer Fitness is no stranger to cheerleading in Greenwich and in the state of Connecticut. Former Greenwich High and University of Connecticut standout cheerleader Shannon Catalano Pesce will once again head up the summer camp.

In addition, alumni of the GHS cheerleading team will be instructing the students. To obtain more information about the second session that gets underway next week, email Pesce at [email protected]
