Silver Hill reelects board members

Silver Hill Hospital has confirmed the re-election of four of its board members, including one from Greenwich.

The board holds 22 members hailing from Westchester, N.Y. and Fairfield County. The re-elected members are co-chairs Deann Murphy of New Rochelle and Ward Cleary of Darien, Secretary Sperry DeCew of New Canaan and Treasurer Peter Orthwein of Greenwich.

“As an independent, nonprofit, psychiatric hospital, we have the ability to provide some the most advanced psychiatric treatments in the tri-state area,” Ms. Murphy said in a statement.

“We keep a high doctor to patient ratio, providing customized care for each individual. Our goal is to bring about healing, one patient at a time,” added Mr. Cleary.

Silver Hill Hospital has been treating patients for more than 80 years in New Canaan, providing help for psychological and behavioral disorders including bipolar disease, schizophrenia and addiction.

“From advanced medical degrees and law to economics, finance and fine arts, the depth and breadth of our board is a tremendous asset to us,” President and Medical Director Dr. Sigurd Ackerman said in a statement. “Under their auspices, we have completely renovated our facilities and developed some of the most cutting-edge treatments in behavioral science. I look forward to many more productive years with them.”
