Off-Beat Players travel to Spamalot

Off-Beat Players Inc. is prepping it’s summer musical and that means its time for auditions.

This year the troupe will perform the blockbuster hit musical Spamalot. Based on the works of the famed Monty Python’s Flying Circus comedy group, the show was a smash hit on Broadway and now it is coming to Greenwich this August. But first come the auditions and they will be held on June 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arch Street Teen Center in Greenwich.

Off-Beat Players, Inc. is a theatre company that provides an opportunity for young people of all backgrounds and abilities to work together, to learn from one another and to benefit from participation in a performing arts program. According to the troupe, young people gain an appreciation and respect for one another and their contributions to the company.

The program develops life skills, instills confidence, uncovers hidden talents and affords every participant the opportunity to experience success in the performing arts. According to Off-Beat Players, Inc. it is their hope that “Through this experience young people develop sensitivity toward one another’s abilities as well as disabilities, embrace the inclusion of all ability levels and celebrate differences in all their future life experiences.”

The 2014 show dates are Aug. 6, 7, 8 and 9.
